SCOPE OF WORK: Coordinates the Licensed Nursing Assistant Program, with responsibility for providing administrative, technical, and logistical support. This person reports to the Nursing Department Chair at Lakes Region Community College. Interested applicants should apply through the college's website at https://www.lrcc.edu/about/employment-opportunities/ This is a part time position working up to 8 hours per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Serves as liaison for the College with the Greater Lakes Region LNA community and the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.

Plans, evaluates, and implements the LNA program.

Develops LNA classes, schedules, sets up course syllabus, builds out Canvas courses for each class and provides first day class orientation, and coordinates the LNA State Competency Exam.

Provides oversight of LNA clinical sites, provides guidance to supervisors and LNA instructors, establishes clinical rotations and ensures BON compliance during LNA clinical training.

Identifies and establishes relationships with medical facilities to host student clinical experience and sets up clinical sites.

Maintains course documents, a list of nursing-related activities, a list of individuals successfully completing the program, and a list of the dates of all programs.

Serves as faculty advisor for students in the LNA Program.

Works with the Nursing Department Chair on the recruiting, selection, and supervision of Adjunct Faculty for the LNA Program.

Monitors and updates curricula within the LNA Program as needed in collaboration with the NH Board of Nursing, the Nursing Department Chair, and the VPAA.

Analyzes existing local and state policies and procedures in order to recommend effective changes.

Complies with all LNA Program Coordinator responsibilities as defined by the Board of Nursing.

Participates in College activities in support of the LNA Program and its students.

Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Education. A bachelor’s degree in education requires an associate’s degree in nursing.

Experience: Three years’ nursing experience with at least one year of experience caring for persons within a long term care (LTC) setting.

License/Certification: A valid registered nursing license. A valid New Hampshire driver’s license

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of the nursing practices and regulations. Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to detect and define problem areas and causes and to create and develop effective solutions, including the exercise of sound judgment in evaluating situations, planning action, making decisions and setting priorities. Ability to work independently to develop new or alternative approaches to meet changing and variable conditions. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college.
