Housekeeper

Job Title: Housekeeper Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Industry: Hospitality Role Overview Our client is a family-owned 40-room hotel in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, seeking an experienced Housekeeper to oversee the housekeeping function and maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across guest rooms and public areas. The successful candidate will lead the housekeeping team, manage daily operations, train staff and ensure an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. • Ensure guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation. • Supervise, train, schedule and motivate housekeeping staff. • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas. • Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, amenities and inventory. • Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance teams to ensure rooms are ready for guests. • Establish and maintain housekeeping procedures, checklists and quality standards. • Address guest feedback and housekeeping-related concerns promptly. • Monitor departmental costs and minimise wastage. • Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards. • Prepare housekeeping reports and communicate operational issues to management. Requirements Candidate Requirements • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or a related field. • 7–10 years' experience in housekeeping within established hotels or resorts. • Previous experience supervising or managing a housekeeping team. • Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards and procedures. • Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction. • Valid Kenyan Passport. • Willingness to relocate and work in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
