Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for inpatient pediatric openings on both night shift pediatric units and day shift pediatric float pool assignments. These opportunities are ideal for RNs with recent acute care pediatric experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center who are comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment with minimal orientation and supervision.

  • 12-hr shifts
  • Night Shift: Inpatient Pediatric Units
  • Day Shift: Pediatric Float Pool, including Bio Behavior Unit as Medical Pediatric Nurse only
  • Every other weekend required
  • Some holidays required

Requirements

  • Current New York State RN registration
  • Current BLS certification or ability to be recertified
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience within the past 2 years in an acute care facility of similar size and level as the hospital
  • 2 years of experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in inpatient pediatric acute care settings
  • Perform nursing assessments and the majority of patient care skills needed in the specialty with minimal orientation and supervision
  • Monitor, assess, and report changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to support high-quality patient care
  • Float to assigned pediatric locations as needed based on unit needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies and procedures
  • Night shift assignment
  • Pediatric inpatient acute care setting
  • Day shift assignment
  • Will float to all pediatric locations
  • Includes floating to the Bio Behavior Unit as a Medical Pediatric Nurse
  • No psych responsibilities
