The Senior Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will play an integral role in supporting CGC’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis activities. Reporting to the Vice President, FP&A, the Senior Associate will provide timely and actionable financial insights that help leadership and business partners make informed decisions and support CGC’s strategic and operational objectives.

The Senior Associate will support and lead key components of CGC’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes, develop and maintain financial models and reporting tools, analyze financial performance, and partner across the organization to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and understanding of financial information.

This role will work closely with Accounting, Treasury, Finance, and leaders across CGC’s divisions and departments to monitor financial performance, identify trends and variances, evaluate business needs, and provide analytical support for both routine and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex financial information. The individual will possess strong financial modeling and business-partnering skills, exercise sound judgment, and be able to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

The role of the Sr. Associate, FP&A is centered upon the activities noted below. In all areas, the Sr. Associate is expected to exercise professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive financial and organizational information and build trust and productive relationships with CGC Division Heads, key external parties, and teammates in Finance through partnership, collaboration and relationship management.

• Support and lead components of CGC’s annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, long-range planning, and management reporting processes, including ongoing forecast updates as priorities, assumptions, and operating conditions evolve.
• Partner with division and department leaders to build budgets, forecasts, and plans aligned with organizational priorities and available resources.
• Coordinate and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual results, including budget-to-actual and forecast variance analysis, and explain trends, risks, opportunities, and material variances to CGC leadership.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, including scenario and sensitivity analyses used for budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, operational analysis, and decision support.
• Perform detailed and ad hoc financial and operational analyses evaluating performance, resource needs, spending patterns, and business scenarios in response to leadership, departmental, and organizational needs.
• Gather and synthesize financial and operational data from multiple sources to support analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
• Apply sound analytical judgment to independently structure analyses, determine appropriate inputs and outputs, and identify relevant conclusions and recommendations.

• Prepare timely financial reports, dashboards, presentations, and other materials for FP&A leadership, senior leadership, and internal business partners, translating complex financial information into clear narratives and recommendations suited to each audience.
• Partner with division and department leaders to monitor spending, manage budgets, and evaluate business needs, resource allocation, and operating priorities.
•  Incorporate stakeholder feedback into financial analyses, reports, and presentation materials while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

• Support the development and maintenance of FP&A data, systems, reporting tools, processes and financial planning infrastructure.
• Assist with reconciling and validating financial and operational data used in management reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Partner with Accounting, Treasury, other Finance team members, and departments across CGC to improve the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of financial reports. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, automate recurring reporting, and strengthen internal financial planning tools.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
• Strong interest in CGC’s mission and in clean energy, climate finance, infrastructure, economic development, investment, or related areas.
• Sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, integrity, and accountability and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Demonstrated professional experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, financial management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain financial models and independently analyze complex financial and operational data. Experience working with financial systems, reporting platforms, data warehouses, accounting systems, or related financial technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills, including attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, financial reporting concepts, budgeting principles, and finance and accounting fundamentals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments, functions, and organizational levels.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

• MBA, Master’s degree in Finance, CFA designation, or other relevant advanced degree or professional certification.
• Experience in an investment firm, asset management, private credit, private equity, financial services, fintech, infrastructure finance, or a similar financial environment.
• Familiarity with project finance, clean energy finance, green banks, public-private partnerships, or investment organizations is a plus.
