Performs data entry and spatial updates for infrastructure networks based on engineering as-built drawings, field observations, aerial photographs, and existing maps
Ensures data integrity and synchronization between GIS feature classes and the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system using established tools and workflows.
Identifies and resolves utility network errors, adhering to industry standards and best practices, to ensure proper topological rules.
Prepares professional maps, figures, statistics, and other data for official reports, projects, and public presentations in a timely manner
Supports and collaborates with department staff and external contractors on field data collection projects, including map and survey design, leveraging ArcGIS field applications.
Assists in the development and maintenance of GIS web applications to enhance data accessibility for internal and external stakeholders.
Creates and maintains clear, comprehensive documentation for GIS projects, workflows, and data standards.
Provides technical assistance and training to department staff on the use of GIS applications and data.
Familiarity with basic GIS principles and concepts; understanding of spatial data, projections, coordinate systems, and basic cartography.
Understanding of GIS data models and data structure (e.g., enterprise geodatabases, feature classes).
Comprehension of public works infrastructure (sewer, water, stormwater, and pavement)
Data maintenance using GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Pro.
Exposure to enterprise asset management (EAM) and GIS data integration.
Convert data between AutoCAD and common GIS formats.
Familiarity with ArcGIS Online/Enterprise and foundational knowledge of Enterprise Geodatabases (SDE)
Capability to assist with or conduct field data collection using survey grade GPS and tools like ArcGIS Field Maps
Ability to identify and troubleshoot data errors and inconsistencies.
Ability to design clear, effective, and professional maps.
Ability to work accurately and with strong attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
Ability to gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from engineering consultants.
Work is performed in a standard City office environment.
Safely lifts and carries computer equipment and other materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
