CDL-A Dry Van Driver

Wilmington-area CDL-A truck drivers can average $1,350–$1,500 per week running regional no-touch dry van freight. Drivers average 700–750 miles per haul, operate on a structured 12-day schedule, and return home for a full 48-hour reset every other weekend. This position combines longer regional runs with a majority of drop-and-hook freight and late-model automatic equipment.

The fleet runs multi-state regional freight throughout established Southeast lanes. Average haul lengths are 700–750 miles, helping drivers build weekly mileage without relying entirely on short runs and frequent stops.

Most freight is no-touch and drop-and-hook. Some live unload deliveries are included depending on the customer. Loads are planned ahead whenever possible to provide smoother transitions from one assignment to the next.

Drivers operate for 12 days followed by a guaranteed 48 hours at home every other weekend. The repeating schedule provides a defined work and home-time routine rather than home time that depends entirely on weekly freight conditions.

Drivers may take their assigned truck home during scheduled resets when safe parking is available. Approved parking locations can also be used when needed.

Drivers are assigned 2021 or newer Freightliner and Kenworth tractors with automatic transmissions. Trucks include APUs and inverters along with refrigerator space and TV and microwave mounts for added comfort while on the road.

Equipment receives regularly scheduled preventive maintenance to help reduce mechanical downtime during regional runs.

No-touch dry van freight makes up the core of this position, with a majority of loads handled through drop-and-hook operations. The 700–750 mile average haul length allows drivers to spend more time covering miles between customers.

Rider and pet programs are available for approved drivers. Dispatch and maintenance support are also available throughout each trip for routing, load coordination, and equipment needs.

Valid Class A CDL

Minimum 3 months of recent tractor-trailer driving experience

Acceptable driving and safety record

Ability to meet DOT qualification and company safety requirements
