The Manager, Digital Marketing, helps ensure integrated digital fundraising campaigns are effectively planned, executed, reviewed, and optimized across email, mobile, and paid media to support acquisition, conversion, retention, revenue growth, and audience development across the full funnel.
Reporting into the Managing Director, Digital Fundraising, this role supports the strategic implementation of approved campaign plans and creative briefs by working closely with internal team members and agency partners to keep campaigns aligned, on time, and informed by performance insights. The Manager, Digital Fundraising works alongside the Digital Fundraising team and cross-functionally to support collaboration, quality control, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate planning and implementation of cross-channel digital fundraising campaigns across email, mobile, paid social, paid search, and programmatic. Develop and maintain campaign tracker and quarterly planning sessions and weekly syncs to ensure alignment and collaboration across internal and external partners.
- Develop working knowledge of email and mobile programs and processes to provide cross-functional support during high-volume campaign periods, emergency activations, PTO coverage, and moments when paid media and owned-channel fundraising efforts need close coordination.
- Support the email and mobile lead in managing the owned-channel fundraising calendar, coordinating with the agency to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, aligned to approved creative briefs, and integrated with broader digital fundraising priorities.
- Review and quality check email and mobile campaign assets for accuracy, audience alignment, donor journey flow, and consistency with campaign strategy before final deployment.
- Build working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, email/mobile fundraising best practices, segmentation, testing, and donor journey development to support campaign execution, reporting inputs, and continuous optimization.
- Serve as the internal paid media channel specialist under the broader digital fundraising strategy, staying close to the day-to-day operational details across Meta, search, programmatic, display, and video. Support the agency on paid media channel-specific inputs, escalating key decisions as needed.
- Review agency media plans, budget pacing, channel details, creative assets and optimization recommendations for accuracy, alignment to brief, and performance implications before final review.
- Monitor paid media performance trends, including pacing, return on advertising spend (ROAS), cost per acquisition (CPA), and campaign-level results, flagging risks and opportunities early.
- Maintain paid media learnings, campaign recaps, test results, and historical context so the organization builds stronger institutional knowledge over time and data can be used to inform leadership presentations.
- Assist with digital emergency activation protocols and real-time cross-channel activations with a full funnel lens to accelerate speed to market and drive unrestricted revenue growth.
- Partner across Donor Marketing & Journeys, Brand, and Center of Excellence to support full funnel integration across awareness, lead generation, conversion, and retention.
- Contribute to campaign strategies and tactics to achieve shared key performance indicators (KPIs) across brand and performance, while also ensuring two-way visibility into initiatives by seeking and providing input on efforts that impact supporter engagement, donor growth and journeys across the funnel.
- Assist with content and creative strategy implementation for digital fundraising efforts, collaborating with Marketing & Communications to map and enhance full funnel supporter journey, ensuring messaging and content across brand and performance are cohesive and mutually reinforcing.
- Contribute to website conversion rate optimization efforts in close partnership with the Managing Director, Digital Fundraising, applying user behavior insights and A/B testing to improve supporter flow and digital conversion while maintaining brand alignment.
- Proactively identify innovative opportunities for Digital Fundraising (e.g., campaign test ideas, new platforms, lead generation efforts, streaming, AI and personalization) to drive audience expansion and donor acquisition, enhance retention, improve efficiency and accelerate organizational digital transformation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with UNICEF teams and media platform partners to stay connected to emerging resources, strategic priorities, and collaboration opportunities.
- Champion Philanthropy Division values by prioritizing impact for children, while providing clear expectations and feedback through effective communication.
- Audit and improve internal processes to improve work-flow and efficiency .

Requirements

- Demonstrated experience in digital nonprofit fundraising and/or marketing, with a solid understanding of digital fundraising best practices.
- Knowledge of performance marketing, specifically channel-based strategies and tactics in email, SMS, and paid media to maximize revenue results, and how they support fundraising and audience engagement.
- Knowledge of full-funnel strategy development donor journeys, lead generation, and the relationship between brand and performance marketing.
- Analytical, enterprise-level thinking skills to understand the organization’s strategies and objectives and translate them to tactics.
- Experience with digital fundraising and marketing technologies, such as CRM platforms (e.g., Blackbaud CRM), marketing automation tools, digital fundraising platforms (e.g., Fundraise Up), project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence), and business intelligence or reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI), is preferred.
