The Associate Regional Director of Disability Services provides operational and strategic leadership to residential and community-based disability services throughout Southern New Jersey. This position serves as a key leader within the organization, responsible for developing high-performing teams, fostering strong relationships with individuals and families served, and driving the growth and expansion of innovative disability services programs.

The Associate Regional Director partners closely with the Regional Director to ensure the delivery of person-centered, high-quality supports that promote independence, dignity, choice, and community inclusion. A primary focus of this role is coaching and developing management and frontline staff within the Weinberg Commons Residential Services team, serving as a trusted liaison to families, and leading efforts to identify, design, and implement new service opportunities throughout the region.

Responsibilities:

Leadership Development & Staff Coaching

  • Provide direct supervision, leadership, mentorship, and professional development to supervisors, managers, and direct support professionals within the Weinberg Commons Residential Services program.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach staff on person-centered practices, regulatory compliance, leadership competencies, and effective service delivery.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Facilitate leadership training and talent development opportunities to strengthen organizational capacity.
  • Monitor program performance and implement strategies to improve outcomes, quality indicators, and staff retention.

Family Relations & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison for families and guardians, providing responsive communication and support regarding services, concerns, and changing needs.
  • Partner with individuals served and their support networks to ensure services remain person-centered and aligned with individual goals.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and address concerns in a timely, respectful, and solution-focused manner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, community partners, advocacy organizations, and service providers.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, community events, and stakeholder forums.

Program Development & Growth

  • Lead the planning, development, and implementation of new disability services programs and service models across Southern New Jersey.
  • Identify emerging community needs, funding opportunities, and service gaps to support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to develop expansion plans and new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, feasibility assessments, and program design activities.
  • Establish partnerships with state agencies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and community organizations to enhance service offerings.
  • Support licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements associated with new program development.

Operations & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure programs operate in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations and standards.
  • Monitor quality assurance measures, incident management processes, and corrective action plans.
  • Analyze program data and outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities and provide leadership during emergencies as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • Master's degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), behavioral health, human services, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing staff teams.
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered planning, community inclusion, and disability services best practices.
  • Experience working collaboratively with families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience leading program development, service expansion, or strategic growth initiatives.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) regulations and service systems.
  • Experience managing multiple programs or service locations. 
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Southern New Jersey.
