About the Role

The internship program at Clēnera is designed to give current undergraduates an opportunity to immerse themselves into the complex world of renewable energy. We have created thoughtful experiences across the company to provide meaningful experiences for the interns and value for the organization. Students who will be successful in this program will bring a passion for the renewable energy industry, a strong work ethic centered around self-motivation, and a desire to learn and grow by working alongside some of the best and brightest in the industry.  

The Asset Management Intern supports the Portfolio Operations team by collecting and analyzing asset data, developing and maintaining reports, monitoring daily asset activity, and recommending improvements to maximize asset performance and operational efficiency. You will also assists with contract compliance, invoicing, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure organizational excellence. 

*Paid 12-week internship opportunity starting in May/June 2027. 

Responsibilities

  • →Support the routine monthly and quarterly reporting obligations required by project energy contracts, financing agreements, and contract compliance obligations while optimizing reporting tools. 
  • →Collect, analyze, and report on asset performance data, including financial and operational metrics for solar projects. 
  • →Assist in monitoring, evaluating, understanding, and communicating the production and financial performance of operating solar projects.
  • →Monitor budgets, provide forecasting and performance analysis on new and existing assets. 
  • →Develop and implement quality control measures to improve asset management processes. 
  • →Manage the maintenance of asset related information in the records management system. 
  • →Assist with contract compliance reporting and ensure legal adherence to local and national regulations, including permit monitoring and submission. 
  • →Coordinate ancillary project services and vendor relationships.
  • →Review and track invoices and payments associated with asset operations.
  • →Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • →Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.
  • →Demonstrates the Clēnera Core Values of Caring, Committed, and Courageous. 
  • →Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate or graduate student, preferably entering their final year, pursuing a degree in business, economics, engineering, operations management, or related field. 
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes: 
    • Basic knowledge of solar plants.
    • Basic understanding and knowledge of contracts, budgets, and financial models. 
    • Capability in building and establishing collaborative relationships internally and externally.  
    • Ability to thinking critically to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to summarize effectively. 
    • Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
