The Mobile Hydra Operator will be responsible for safely operating mobile hydraulic lifting equipment for lifting, positioning, loading, and moving heavy machinery components, materials, and equipment across workshop and project sites. The role requires careful load handling and strict adherence to lifting and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate mobile hydraulic lifting equipment for lifting and positioning heavy materials, machinery parts, and equipment.
- →Assess loads and ensure lifting activities remain within the equipment's rated capacity.
- →Position the machine safely before lifting and correctly deploy outriggers and stabilizers where applicable.
- →Conduct daily pre-start inspections of hydraulic, lifting, safety, and operating systems.
- →Coordinate with riggers, signalers, mechanics, and supervisors during lifting activities.
- →Monitor lifting conditions and immediately stop operations where unsafe conditions are identified.
- →Perform basic operator-level maintenance and report hydraulic, mechanical, or safety-related defects.
- →Maintain operating records and comply with established lifting and site safety requirements.
Requirements
~1 min read- Certificate or recognized vocational/heavy-equipment operator training in Mobile Crane/Hydra Operations or a related field.
- Valid relevant machinery/operator licence or certification where applicable.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience operating mobile hydraulic lifting equipment or similar machinery.
- Good knowledge of safe lifting practices, equipment load capacities, outriggers, and basic rigging principles.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and routine operator maintenance.
- Ability to understand standard hand signals and coordinate effectively with riggers and ground personnel.
- Strong safety awareness, concentration, and equipment-control skills.
- Experience in heavy-equipment workshops, construction, agriculture, or industrial projects will be an added advantage.
