The IT Business and Controls Auditor I ensures Coast and its internal collections systems (Artiva, FACS, etc.) maintain full compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements established by local, state, and federal authorities. This role primarily supports the Information Technology and Operations Departments by conducting comprehensive evaluations of internal controls, technical processes, and adherence to documented internal policies, procedures, and work instructions. The IT Business and Controls Auditor I performs detailed reviews of workflows and system operation and conducts routine audits related to account data accuracy, file uploads, letter coding, and balance reconciliations using both pre-developed and independently created queries to assess system data. The IT Business and Controls Auditor I will be skillful in understanding the requirements of corporate management, technology, collections, and other functional areas of the business. Success in this role is dependent on strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, advanced pattern recognition skills, and the capability to translate technical and operational requirements into accurate and logical SQL expressions used daily.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Review workflows and work instructions to develop an understanding of how processes are intended to operate
- →Ensure client contract requirements are met
- →Audit Artiva/FACS processes assigned to confirm that methods are working in compliance with documented workflows and work instructions
- →Identify errors within processes that are not running in compliance with work flows and work instructions
- →Report errors to the management team, as defined
- →Initiate non-conformities within the compliance management system
- →Review corrective actions for accuracy and non-conformities for remediation
- →Review emails, ticketing systems, and notifications from operations concerning problems with individual accounts and determine if the error is isolated or widespread and report findings to the management team, as defined
- →Initiate and review reports from client systems, Coast internal systems, and other reports as necessary to identify potential deficiencies between the systems
- →Provide support when needed to other areas of the compliance department
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree is desirable. Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted for educational requirement
- Two years’ minimum experience in collections or related profession required. Experience with student loan collections is preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with technology and technological tools using critical and analytical thinking
- Knowledge of collection practices
- Knowledge of standard regulatory Compliance requirements such as but not limited to FDCPA, UDAAP, Regulation F, TCPA, etc.
- Familiar with IT functions, processes, and procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically proficient in Excel and use of formulas within
- Familiarity with Structured Query Language, Manage Engine, and Database schemas preferred
- Familiarity with technical writing and process specifications
- High aptitude for problem solving, pattern recognition, analyzing data and interpreting contractual agreements

As a federal contractor, this position requires U.S. citizenship and security clearance granting access to classified information. The background investigation is conducted by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and is an evaluation of the whole person to determine suitability.
