Senior Workshop Engineer

Responsible for ensuring maintenance, safety, quality, and operational requirements are fully integrated into engineering design and project delivery. This includes establishing preventive maintenance strategies, managing design verification and validation processes, controlling and approving design changes, supporting value engineering initiatives, overseeing as-built documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role also requires strong problem-solving abilities and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient solutions that meet client and operational requirements.

• →Maintance Management:Establish and excute preventative maintenance plans
• →Ensure mandatory requirements are implemented in all design works undertaken.
• →Ensure SHE and Quality input is taken into consideration with all Engineering Design processes.
• →Ensuring that, where deemed necessary, following successful  design verification, design   validation   is performed under   defined   operating conditions, to ensure resulting designs conform to defined user needs and/ or requirements 
• → Ensure that all design changes and modifications are identified, documented, reviewed and approved by authorized personnel before their implementation.
• →Participate in value engineering and the timely development and submission of proposals for change to Client’s Representative for consideration.
• →Prepare and expedite as‐built documents generation, submission and approval as required.
• →Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues during the design, testing, and operational phases.
• →Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across departments and with clients to achieve project goals.
• →Safety and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of industry safety standards and a commitment to designing equipment that ensures safe operation.

• Education:	Engineering bachelor’s degree (Mechanical / Electrical)
  Experience:	+5 years’ experience in engineering design, preferably in the transportation, rail, or industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of depot equipment systems and their design requirements (e.g., maintenance facilities, fueling systems, lifting equipment). Proficient in design software and tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering design applications. Experience in developing technical specifications, schematics, and detailed engineering drawings. Strong understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to equipment design. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform feasibility studies and risk assessments. Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  Language Requirements:	Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.
