Traffic Control Person

After attending a safety briefing and completing a gear check, the Traffic Control Person takes position on the roadside to safely guide vehicles through construction zones. The role requires standing for extended periods while remaining alert to traffic flow and changing site conditions. Throughout the day, the Traffic Control Person communicates clearly with drivers and crew members using hand signals and/or radios to maintain a safe work environment for everyone on site.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Directing traffic through construction and maintenance zones
• Monitoring traffic patterns and responding quickly to changing conditions
• Communicating professionally with the public, drivers, and teammates
• Supporting the crew with light general labour duties as required
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety for workers, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists

This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and highly visible. Strong communication skills, situational awareness, and a commitment to safety are essential to success.

• Class 5 driver’s license and clean abstract, and reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Willingness to travel and work away from home if required
• Ability to clearly communicate with colleagues and members of the public
• Comfortable working outdoors and standing for extended periods

• Previous experience as an agent with construction
• Ability to remain focused and alert in fast-paced or changing environments
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
