The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

The Safety Associate I is responsible for ensuring the safety of clients, staff, vendors, volunteers, and other visitors at assigned Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) locations. This role focuses on de-escalation, crisis prevention, and maintaining a trauma-informed approach to safety while promoting a secure environment. Safety Associates at CCH are not an extension of law enforcement but serve as proactive safety professionals in a supportive capacity.

 Work location is the Stout Street Health Clinic.

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of issues affecting individuals experiencing homelessness and a commitment to serving underserved populations.

Ability to assess and de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a sincere desire to support others.

Must pass a criminal background check.
