Commvault is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Infrastructure to join our Commvault Cloud SaaS Engineering team. In this role, you will help maintain the reliability, scalability, and performance of the infrastructure that powers Commvault's SaaS platform. You will work alongside experienced SREs, platform engineers, and software developers to build, operate, and improve highly available cloud services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about cloud infrastructure, automation, Linux systems, and learning modern DevOps and SRE practices.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Monitor and maintain the health, availability, and performance of SaaS infrastructure.
- →Participate in day-to-day operations, incident response, and troubleshooting of production environments.
- →Assist in deploying and maintaining infrastructure across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and GCP where applicable).
- →Support Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
- →Execute operational runbooks and assist in automation of repetitive operational tasks.
- →Help maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and configuration management tools.
- →Work with CI/CD pipelines to support application deployments.
- →Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
- →Participate in on-call rotations with guidance from senior engineers.
- →Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- →Contribute to documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- →Monitor system metrics, logs, and alerts using observability platforms and recommend improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 1–3 years of experience in systems administration, cloud operations, DevOps, or SRE.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and basic system administration.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with one or more public cloud platforms.
- Basic understanding of containers and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with scripting using Bash or Python.
- Understanding of Git and version control practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate-level certification.
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog.
- Knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of SRE principles including SLIs, SLOs.
- Familiarity with security best practices for cloud infrastructure.
