We are seeking a highly motivated and professional Environmental Health & Safety Consultant to join our team full-time in the Greater Philadelphia, PA area. This is a client-facing position that involves delivering high-impact safety training, supporting client compliance initiatives, and ensuring best practices in occupational health and safety. The role includes regional travel, primarily within driving distance, with occasional overnight stays depending on project requirements.
As a key member of our consulting team, you will work independently and collaboratively to deliver technical expertise and regulatory compliance solutions that align with OSHA standards and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead the development, execution and implementation of workplace safety programs in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and other relevant regulations. This includes programs such as: Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, & Emergency Action Plans.
- →Conduct thorough hazard assessments, root cause analyses, and incident investigations to identify risks, recommendations, and implement corrective actions.
- →Provide expert guidance on hazardous materials regulations, hazardous waste management, and environmental health practices to minimize risks.
- →Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions on safety regulations, emergency response procedures—including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and first aid—and workplace safety protocols.
- →Maintain detailed report writing for incident reports, audit findings, compliance documentation, and corrective action plans.
- 5-10 years of direct safety experience.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental health regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop effective corrective strategies.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail for documentation of investigations and compliance activities.
- Strong training & development skills to present and educate employees on safety practices effectively.
- Familiarity with environmental management systems (EMS) and environmental regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field (preferred)
- OSHA 501 – Trainer for General Industry (preferred)
- Recognized safety credentials such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or CSHO are highly desirable.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED instructor certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Requirements
~2 min read- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct training or site inspections for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in industrial, construction, or field environments when needed.
- Capable of lifting training materials and equipment (up to 30 lbs).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally up to 40% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
- Background check and potential drug screening required for the position
- Overtime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demands
- Residence within a reasonable commuting distance
