Senior Engineer- Data Platforms

• 5+ years of experience in a software or infrastructure engineering industry
• Experience operating services in production and at scale and familiarity with reliability engineering concepts such as different types of testing, progressive deployments, error budgets, observability, and fault-tolerant design
• Understanding of CAP theorem and concurrency models, with the ability to clearly define data models and establish guidelines around data management
• Familiarity with one of the distributed NewSQL datastores such as CockroachDB, TiDB, YDB, Yugabyte and/or stream processing tools such as NATS or Kafka
• Experience with designing and operating these systems at scale
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and comfort using it for event-driven and/or stateful orchestration
• Experience with Linux distributions, shell scripting, and Linux storage and networking stacks
• Ability to transform problems into elastic solutions and decompose them into achievable tasks
• Proficiency in Go
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering or similar fields

• Interest in contributing to a Kubernetes operator in order to manage data systems
• Interest in contributing to open source
• Excitement about new research in data structures

The base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $210,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).

While we prioritize a hybrid work environment, remote work may be considered for candidates located more than 30 miles from an office, based on role requirements for specialized skill sets. New hires will be invited to attend onboarding at one of our hubs within their first month. Teams also gather quarterly to support collaboration.
