We are seeking a detailed‑oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our fast-growing team. While this role oversees global payroll operations, significant preference will be given to candidates with extensive, hands-on experience in Czechia payroll and statutory compliance. This role is critical to managing end-to-end operations and providing expert support to our employees. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to thrive under payroll deadlines, and a collaborative mindset to support our cross‑functional teams.
End-to-End Processing: Follow the payroll calendar timelines to prepare accurate inputs, validate new hire information, and submit data for next-level review and vendor processing.
Quality Assurance: Review and validate payroll outputs, salary calculations, and backup records to ensure 100% accuracy.
Financial Coordination: Coordinate approvals with the payroll manager, process payments (Net, tax, invoices), and share Gross‑to‑Net and Journal Entries with the accounting team.
Query & Vendor Management: Manage daily payroll queries, ticketing systems, and vendor communications efficiently.
Post Payroll activities: Complete trackers, KPIs, FloQast sign‑offs, and manage timely statutory payments
Audit & Year-End: Manage year‑end filings, reconciliations, and employee support for tax forms . Prepare comprehensive payroll data for audits and ensure adherence to internal controls. Support all internal and external financial audits
Process Improvement: Ensure timely updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and act as a reliable backup for team members. Lead initiatives to streamline payroll workflows and enhance efficiency in collaboration with cross-functional partners
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with HR and other related department to ensure seamless data flow between systems and verify that personnel changes are accurately reflected in payroll
Compliance & Tax Management: Apply knowledge of international tax regulations, local wage laws, and statutory requirements to ensure full global compliance.
Records Management: Maintain comprehensive payroll records in accordance with company policies and internal control protocols (SOX/compliance)
Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of recent, ideally within a fast-growth company environment, and experience in Tech company can be added advantage
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in modern payroll systems, service desk tools, and MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.).
Subject Matter Expertise: proven knowledge of Czechia and EMEA payroll (Czechia, Croatia, Poland, UK, Germany, France), labor laws, taxation, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.
Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and maintain strict data confidentiality with a strong sense of professional integrity.
Analytical Mindset: Highly detail-oriented with a passion for numerical accuracy and data integrity.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex payroll concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Adaptability: Proactive and flexible; comfortable navigating the shifting priorities of all business.
Problem Solving: Assertive and creative approach to resolving issues and escalating risks when necessary.
