We are seeking an experienced hands-on leader as a Senior Software Engineering Manager to join us to take the business to the next level. We are also looking for a tech leader with a proven track record of designing and building large-scale distributed systems preferably with a background in the E-commerce space. You will be a team leader who will lead the development for improving the Marketplace platform's scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility, and performance. 

As we continue to scale and innovate, you will be working in a fast-paced environment along with a team of smart and passionate global engineers to design and implement various systems to meet the needs of the Rocket Growth business.

As the SDM, you will:

• →Lead an agile team of developers to build scalable, stable, and maintainable software systems, while driving architectural decisions and engineering best practices.
• →Recruit, hire, and develop talent through mentoring, 1:1 coaching, and career‑growth support.
• →Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand and prioritise requirements, shape the roadmap, and deliver high‑quality solutions.
• →Define and report key engineering metrics, ensuring strong execution across development, implementation, and operations.
• →Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and optimisation of engineering and business processes.
• →Communicate effectively across users, technical teams, and leadership to define product features, influence strategy, and guide complex software from concept to delivery.
• →Serve as a thought leader with broad technical expertise—spanning front‑end to back‑end—focused on building customer‑centric, innovative, and simple solutions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience.
• At least 2+ years of experience leading a software development team through multiple product / platform releases.
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective software engineers
• Experience building and operating distributed systems that are highly available.
• Professional coding experience using modern programming language such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C++, C#, etc.; strong object-oriented design and algorithmic analysis background.
• Deep experience building high quality software with the Agile processes: Software.
• Design, code reviews, QA process.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Hybrid / Onsite / Remote working 

Our Hybrid work model: Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees. Employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week, depending on the role requirement. Some businesses may require more time in office due to nature of work.
