이 포지션은 단순한 보안 운영 역할이 아닌, 대규모 분산 시스템과 보안 플랫폼을 직접 설계·개발하는 Hands-on Individual Contributor(IC) 역할입니다. 보안, 플랫폼, 인프라, 소프트웨어 엔지니어링 조직과 협업하며 회사 전반의 보안 역량을 향상시키는 솔루션을 구축하게 됩니다.

또한 새로운 기술과 AI 기반 보안 기술을 활용하여 보안 문제를 해결하고, 조직 전반의 기술 방향성에 영향을 미치는 역할을 수행하게 됩니다.

• 전사적으로 영향력 있는 Security Engineering 프로젝트를 리드하고 실행합니다.
• 복잡한 보안 문제를 해결하기 위한 확장 가능한 Security Platform 및 Distributed System을 설계하고 개발합니다.
• Security, Software Engineering, Infrastructure, GRC 조직과 협업하여 요구사항을 실제 서비스 수준의 솔루션으로 구현합니다.
• 시스템 아키텍처 설계 및 기술 리뷰를 주도하고 엔지니어링 모범 사례를 확산합니다.
• AI 및 차세대 보안 기술을 검토하고, PoC(Proof of Concept) 및 기술 검증을 수행합니다.

• 컴퓨터공학 또는 관련 분야 학사 이상 학위
• 대규모 분산 시스템(Distributed Systems) 개발 경험을 포함한 8년 이상의 소프트웨어 엔지니어링 경력
• 복잡한 Cross-functional 프로젝트를 주도한 기술 리더십 경험
• Java, Go, Python, C++ 중 하나 이상의 프로그래밍 언어 활용 능력
• 확장 가능하고 안정적인 플랫폼 및 서비스 설계·구축·운영 경험
• 분산 시스템, 시스템 아키텍처, 성능 및 안정성에 대한 깊은 이해
• AWS 환경 경험 및 IAM, Access Control, Logging 등 보안 관련 기술 이해

• Security Engineering 경험 (Vulnerability Management, IAM (Identity & Access Management), Application Security, Data Security, Detection & Response, Security Automation, GRC 관련 기술 솔루션 개발)
• 대규모 Security Product 또는 Security Platform 개발 경험

We are looking for an experienced Staff Security Software Engineer to design and build scalable security platforms, and capabilities that strengthen Coupang's security posture.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems at scale. You will lead the design and implementation of distributed systems, influence technical direction across teams, and partner with security, platform, and software engineering organizations to deliver innovative solutions in the evolving security and AI landscape.

• →Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact security engineering initiatives.
• →Build scalable security platforms and distributed systems that address complex security challenges.
• →Collaborate across Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, and GRC teams to translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready solutions.
• →Drive architecture, technical design reviews, and engineering best practices.
• →Evaluate emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and security solutions through prototypes and technical investigations.
• →Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong technical leadership experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering initiatives.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing, building, and operating highly scalable and reliable software platforms.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, performance, and reliability.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, including IAM, security controls, logging, and access management. Security engineering experience in one or more domains such as vulnerability management, GRC, application and data security, IAM, detection and response, or security automation.

• Experience building security products, platforms, or services at scale.
• Experience leveraging AI technologies to improve security capabilities or engineering productivity.
• Track record of driving architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams and organizations.
• Experience solving large-scale availability, scalability, and performance challenges in production environments.

Document Return Policy
1. This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
2. A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the "Company"), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. However, this will not apply where the hiring documents were submitted via the website of the Company or e-mail, or where the job applicant submitted those documents voluntarily without a request from the Company. In addition, if the hiring documents were destroyed due to a natural disaster or any other reasons not attributable to the Company, such documents will be deemed to have been returned to the job applicant.
3. A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a "Request for Return of Hiring Documents" [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit It by email (recruitingops@coupang.com). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant's designated address via registered mail. Please be informed that the job applicant is required to pay the postage on the registered mail.
4. In preparation for a job applicant's request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
5. The above paragraphs 1 - 4 shall only apply when the labor-related laws of Korea govern the application. They are otherwise not applicable.
