Staff Site Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering to lead the design and development of internal platforms, tools, and automation that help protect sensitive data across the organization. 

This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems, working with large-scale data platforms, and partnering with security, privacy, compliance, and engineering teams. You will help improve how the company discovers, reviews, governs, and reduces sensitive data exposure through well-designed software systems and automation. 

• →Design and build internal platforms and tools to support sensitive data discovery, review workflows, access governance, risk tracking, and remediation. 
• →Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation workflows that help teams identify, analyze, and reduce sensitive data exposure. 
• →Integrate with large-scale data systems such as object storage, databases, data warehouses, streaming platforms, metadata systems, and production services. 
• →Work closely with security, data platform, and product engineering teams to translate business and risk requirements into practical engineering solutions. 
• →Partner with data owners and platform teams to improve how sensitive data is stored, accessed, transformed, shared, and monitored. 

• Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 10+ years building and operating backend services and web applications
• Software engineering experience, especially in backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems development. 
• Strong programming and scripting skills, such as Python, Bash, Java, or similar languages. 
• Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services, IAM concepts, permissions, logging, and access patterns.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience leading system design, architecture leveraging AWS or Azure services
• 10+ year’s of hands-on experience in building high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems in the cloud.
• 7+ year’s of hands-on experience in building and managing high-performance, highly-available and scalable Hybrid Cloud cloud environments .
• AWS Certification Advance Architecting, Developing on AWS,
• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Infra Engineering
• Team leading experience
• Excellent cross-group collaboration and communication skills
  
  

Type of work model

Hybrid - Our Hybrid work model: Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees. Employees are required to work at least 2 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week, depending on the role requirement. Some businesses may require more time in office due to nature of work.
