We are looking for a Seasonal Localization Quality Associate - QC to support CQ fluency’s localization projects by ensuring that quality standards and client expectations are consistently met. This is an entry-level role focused on hands-on quality control execution, strong attention to detail, and close collaboration with Project Managers, linguists, and quality team members.
You will play a key role in day-to-day QC execution while gradually developing linguistic quality awareness, tool proficiency, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Learn, apply, and consistently follow CQ fluency’s quality standards across assigned projects
- Understand and execute client-specific quality requirements, instructions, and workflows
- Review foreign-language deliverables against English source content to identify and correct non-linguistic and functional issues, including:
- Formatting, spacing, and layout
- Numbers, dates, names, and capitalization
- Fonts, bullets, headers, and footers
- Links, cross-references, and tables of contents
- Punctuation and consistency
- Use, complete, and help refine quality checklists for assigned projects
- Properly use all reference materials, glossaries, and client instructions during reviews
- Ensure deliverables meet functional, non-linguistic, and client-specific quality expectations prior to delivery
- Collaborate in the creation of style guides, checklists, work instructions, and account specific documentation
- Ensure quality documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time
- Maintain accurate administrative records and quality-related reporting
- Review, consolidate, track and harmonize feedback from multiple proofreaders or reviewers
- Provide clear, targeted feedback to linguists, proofreaders and internal or external stakeholders
- Support linguist training activities by reinforcing quality standards, recurring issues, and best practices
- Escalate complex linguistic issues, inconsistencies, or uncertainties to Quality Managers
- Support resolution of linguistic disagreements under guidance
- Communicate with linguists and proofreaders to address questions, clarifications, and timeline risks
- Implement approved quality-related changes in CAT tools (e.g., memoQ), including project-level TM or terminology updates
- Support organization of project files and maintenance of clear quality documentation
- Report on quality-related actions, risks, or findings to Quality Managers
- Support Project Managers with quality-related coordination tasks, such as scheduling proofreading resources and preparing vendor-related documentation
- Participate in onboarding and ongoing training on quality processes, tools, and localization workflows
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing project needs, priorities, and quality requirements
- Gradually build familiarity with linguistic quality concepts, client expectations, and escalation workflows
- Actively seek feedback to improve accuracy, efficiency, and quality awareness
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum 1 year of experience in the translation or localization industry, including use of translation tools
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent, quality-focused mindset
- Ability to follow defined processes, checklists, and instructions accurately
- Strong organizational skills and reliability in meeting deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across projects and accounts
- Openness to feedback and commitment to continuous learning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Positive, collaborative attitude and strong team-player mindset
- Tech-savvy, comfortable working with tools in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Adobe software products
- Commitment to professional customer service and quality delivery
- Fluency in English; additional language(s) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field from an accredited institution
