Engineer

The Marine Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems onboard a cruise ship. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and continuous functioning of ship machinery and engineering systems to support smooth operations and passenger comfort.

  Operate, maintain, and repair shipboard engines, generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and other machinery.

  Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to prevent breakdowns.

  Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance checks on all engineering systems.

  Maintain detailed logs and documentation of maintenance, repairs, and operational reports.

  Collaborate with the technical and deck teams to ensure overall ship safety and efficiency.

  Respond promptly to engineering emergencies, including system failures, power outages, or safety incidents.

  Ensure compliance with maritime safety regulations, including SOLAS and environmental standards.

  Participate in training programs and stay updated on new technologies and best practices.

• Proven experience as a marine or mechanical engineer, preferably in maritime or offshore environments.

• Knowledge of shipboard mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems.

• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and under varying sea conditions.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) or equivalent maritime certification preferred.

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications/licenses for marine engineering work.

• Prior experience onboard ships is highly desirable.
