Responsibilities

- →Litigation Support: Draft complaints, e-file documents, and organize materials for litigation processes, including mediation and depositions.
- →Case Management: Independently manage cases from post-intake handoff through closure, ensuring timely progression while maintaining client communication.
- →Deadline Tracking: Proactively manage attorney calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision and nothing slips through the cracks.
- →Settlement Coordination: Prepare settlement documentation, coordinate logistics, and oversee the closure process with clients, including disbursement arrangements.
- →Client Communication: Build strong rapport with clients, providing empathetic support and clear communication throughout their legal journeys.
- →In-Office Presence: Support scheduled client meetings, occasional walk-ins, and conference room setup for depositions/mediations while serving as Pracht’s professional onsite litigation support presence.
- Personal Injury Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal focusing on personal injury cases.
- Litigation Skills: Proficiency in e-filing, drafting complaints, and organizing complex litigation materials with a keen eye for detail.
- Organizational Ability: Strong skills in managing multiple cases and deadlines, with a focus on anticipating needs and ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Client Interaction: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and build relationships with clients throughout their cases.
- Professionalism: Personable and presentable, ensuring a polished in-office presence and representing the firm with integrity.
- Autonomous Work Style: Ability to work independently and proactively within the firm's workflows, understanding the nuances of PI litigation.
- Preferred: Experience supporting minors’ settlement matters or cases involving children.
- Direct Impact: Play a critical role in establishing Pracht's presence in the Charleston office, with visibility and autonomy in your responsibilities.
- Supportive Management: Work directly with Attorney Kerrison Schmutz in a collaborative, supportive work environment that encourages development.
