\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is currently accepting applications for a Consumer Protection Drug Control Principal Agent position�within the Cannabis Control Division in Hartford.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Drug Control Division oversees compliance and enforcement of all laws and regulations concerning the sale and distribution of drugs within Connecticut. We are responsible for the administration, compliance, and enforcement of the state's Prescription Monitoring Program. These duties may include:\r\n\r\n\r\n Training, supervising, and assigning work, including, but not limited to investigating complaints received by the Division\r\n Reviewing investigative reports and inspection reports\r\n Assisting with the writing and reviewing of statutes and regulations\r\n Ensuring compliance with statutes and regulations\r\n Coordinating Division work flow\r\n Attending meetings on behalf of the Division\r\n Establishing and maintaining Division policies and procedures\r\n Other�duties as deemed required by the Division\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nABOUT US\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe mission of the State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is to promote a fair and equitable marketplace and to ensure safe products and services for consumers. The Cannabis Control Division oversees compliance and enforcement of all laws and regulations concerning adult-use cannabis, medical marijuana, infused beverages and hemp manufacturing within Connecticut.\r\n\r\n\r\n

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In the Department of Consumer Protection, Division of Drug Control this class is accountable for acting as a working supervisor responsible for the monitoring of drug, cosmetic and device distribution systems for compliance with state laws and regulations and investigating diversion and other illegal activities within drug, cosmetic and device distribution systems.\r\n

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

\r\n\r\n Coordinates unit workflow and determines priorities;�\r\n Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews work;�\r\n Establishes and maintains unit procedures;�\r\n Provides staff training and assistance;�\r\n Conducts or assists in conducting performance evaluations;�\r\n Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures;�\r\n May make recommendations on policies or standards;�\r\n May prepare reports and correspondence;�\r\n Performs related duties as required.\r\n\r\n\r\n

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

\r\n\r\n Considerable knowledge of\r\n \r\n and ability to apply relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations;�\r\n composition and appearance of legal and illegal drugs and use and abuse;�\r\n inspection and investigative procedures and methods;�\r\n prescribing, dispensing and administration of drugs;�\r\n quality control procedures of pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, laboratories and hospitals;�\r\n \r\n \r\n Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of institutional and commercial pharmacy practice;�\r\n Considerable\r\n \r\n interpersonal skills;�\r\n oral and written communication skills;�\r\n \r\n \r\n Ability to\r\n \r\n make independent judgements;�\r\n conduct effective educational programs;�\r\n \r\n \r\n Supervisory ability.\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years of experience in the monitoring, investigation and control of drug, cosmetic and device distribution systems.\r\n

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\n\r\n Experience following inspection and investigative procedures\r\n Experience collaborating with intradepartmental employees and other state agencies to perform joint investigations or inspections\r\n Experience prioritizing projects with competing deadlines\r\n Experience analyzing and interpreting data\r\n Experience managing the workflow of a team of individuals and delegating tasks\r\n\r\n\r\n

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

\r\n\r\n Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license as a registered Pharmacist in Connecticut.\r\n Incumbents in this class may be required to work evenings, nights and weekends.\r\n Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.\r\n Candidates for this class are subject to selection standards pursuant to 7-294-a-e and the regulations of the Municipal Police Training Academy.\r\n\r\n\r\n

CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the checking of references and of facts in the application a thorough background investigation of each candidate may be conducted before persons are certified for permanent appointment.\r\n

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

A physical examination may be required; incumbents in this class must have normal color vision.\r\n

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbents in this class may be exposed to some danger of injury or probability of physical harm in performing the duties of the class.\r\n
