This role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, and sustainment of the production test systems that keep our consumer-electronics repair lines running. This position owns the maintenance ticket queue and is the floor's first line of response for keeping testers online and throughput up.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- →Own day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of test systems for consumer-electronics production lines.
- →Work and close Jira tickets — triage, diagnose, resolve, and document; keep queues current and communicate status.
- →Troubleshoot test-system failures, determine root cause, and resolve to restore production quickly.
- →Sustain and support deployed software and test systems — apply updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- →Configure and calibrate test systems; verify they meet spec after service.
- →Maintain daily logs, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct routine inspections and adjustments to keep test systems in good working order.
- →Respond to emergency maintenance requests; troubleshoot to determine cause and solution. This may require non-shift work.
- →Monitor tester performance and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
- →Implement software into test systems; upgrade software and hardware as needed.
- →Report and reproduce software bugs for the development team with clear, repeatable steps.
- →Work with all levels of management to define and prioritize workflow.
- 0–2 years of experience in test engineering and/or production shop-floor environments.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair test-system and equipment issues.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause skills — methodical, systematic, and thorough.
- Ticket/queue discipline — comfortable owning a Jira queue and closing tickets on cadence.
- Basic knowledge of C#, Python, CLI, or Linux applications; JTAG a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and electronics; understanding of Android/iOS phone testing a plus.
- Experience working with outside vendors and contractors a plus.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize under production pressure.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers in written and verbal communication.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
