The Production Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment to support efficient manufacturing operations. Troubleshoots, repairs, and services machinery and equipment, identifies and reports mechanical or electrical issues, and assists with equipment setup and changeovers. Works closely with production and engineering teams to help minimize downtime and maintain equipment performance. Maintains maintenance records, helps manage spare parts inventory, follows established maintenance procedures, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • →Performs maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, IT, automation, roof issues, lighting, doors, flooring, and other building systems.
  • →Troubleshoots equipment and facility issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • →Coordinates and completes preventative maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
  • →Responds to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs promptly – on call 24/7.
  • →Maintains tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
  • →Works with outside vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs, sprinkler/fire maintenance, and projects.
  • →Ensures compliance with safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • →Assists with facility improvements, modifications, and general upkeep of the building and grounds.
  • →All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production or manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and maintenance testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, work instructions, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspections.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment, and stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing, conveyor systems, robotics, or production equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and automated control systems.
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift experience/certification.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing, distribution, or repair operations environment.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
  • Multi-craft maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: Technical certification, vocational training, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Warehouse environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and on-call assignments as needed.
