Senior Communications and Media Adviser NRAR Who We Are The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) works to protect the state’s environment and heritage.
The Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) is looking for an experienced communications professional to lead the delivery of strategic communications, media and brand initiatives that support the sustainable management of water resources across NSW.
As Senior Communications and Media Adviser, you'll play a key role in elevating NRAR's profile, managing media engagement, and delivering campaigns that build awareness, encourage voluntary compliance and support regulatory outcomes.
About the Role
~1 min readReporting to the Manager, Communications and Media, you will lead the development and implementation of integrated communication, media and brand strategies that translate complex regulatory information into clear, engaging and audience-focused messaging.
You'll work across a diverse stakeholder environment to:
- Lead the design and delivery of communication, media and brand campaigns
- Manage NRAR's media office and foster productive relationships with media outlets across NSW
- Develop strategic communication and media plans that support organisational priorities
- Provide expert communications advice to senior stakeholders
- Coordinate multiple projects and campaigns from concept to evaluation
- Coach and support team members in communications planning, project management and media engagement
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance to inform future initiatives.
You are a strategic communicator who can confidently navigate complex issues and competing priorities. You combine strong media expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a proven ability to develop campaigns that deliver results.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic communications and media initiatives
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills
- Experience translating technical or complex information into accessible content
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities
- Sound project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience providing high-quality communications advice in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
~1 min read- Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, marketing or equivalent experience.
