The skilled artisans at Heritage Stoneworks handcraft sandstone blocks for use in the maintenance of our state’s most impressive historic buildings. Their work will also encompass the installation of these blocks on site, and all associated craft skills. It ensures that more than 800 heritage-significant sandstone buildings across NSW remain culturally significant and operational as schools, hospitals and courthouses.

 

In this role you will perform assigned stonemasonry tasks at a capable level ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality and heritage standards whilst collaborating with others to examine, evaluate, and develop practical solutions within defined project parameters

Our Stonemason (W5) supports the planning and/or delivery of a range of assigned infrastructure project tasks or may manage small scale infrastructure projects with low to medium risk and complexity in order that time, cost, quality, safety, targets and the organisational objectives and client expectations are met.

 

You are responsive and effective in all client interactions, contribute to the capture of lessons learned on projects by participating informal lessons learned forums and demonstrate professionalism by undertaking professional development activities in consultation with business unit management.

 

As a Stonemason with Heritage Stoneworks, you will be self- motivated and have a genuine passion for stonemasonry. You will also demonstrate knowledge of trade and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations and strive to maintain high standards of quality and safety while adapting to changing work conditions, priorities, and project demands.

 

We can only consider your application with the following essential requirements:

  • Trade certificate or equivalent qualification in Stonemasonry with relevant experience in the field
  • Preferred-Current High Risk Work licence for Dogging or a current Fork-lift licence
  • Preferred-Valid Australian Driver Licence and willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays
