The Accountant will be responsible for leading the organization’s financial strategy and operations. The role will establish robust accounting policies and procedures, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and efficiency across trading, services, and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Accounting & Reporting • Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts in line with applicable accounting standards • Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules • Ensure accuracy of general ledger postings, journals, and balances • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Compliance & Controls • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements (TRA, audits, filings) • Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory reports on time • Assist in the development, documentation, and implementation of accounting policies and procedures • Implement and maintain basic internal controls and approval processes Cash Flow & Operations Support • Monitor receivables, payables, and working capital • Support cash flow planning and treasury activities • Track costs and expenses and flag variances or inefficiencies • Support inventory and asset accounting where applicable Systems & Stakeholder Support • Utilize ERP/accounting systems effectively (experience with Next ERP preferred) • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other stakeholders • Provide financial information and analysis to management as required Key Deliverables • Timely and accurate monthly management accounts • Properly maintained accounting records and reconciliations • Full compliance with tax and statutory obligations • Documented accounting procedures and basic internal controls • Cost and expense monitoring reports • Cash flow tracking and working capital support • Reliable financial data to support management decision-making Requirements Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA) preferred but not mandatory. Mid-level managerial experience in Accounting. Proven experience in financial management within trading, logistics, services, or manufacturing sectors. Strong knowledge of compliance, governance, and audit requirements. Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Next ERP. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
