Performs moderately complex management or oversight activates for daily operations of an operating unit or functional program. Work involves establishing short-, mid-, or long-term goals and objectives; developing guidelines,procedures, rules and regulations; developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving established goals;coordinating and evaluating program activities; and developing and evaluating budget requests. Plans, assigns, and/orsupervises the work of others. Works under limited direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative andindependent judgment.

The Code Enforcement Manager manages, oversees, and directs the code enforcement activities ensuring accuracy, accountability, and efficiency in enforcement actions; develops plans and directives, manages quality and accuracy in reporting, and ensures excellent inspection, code enforcement, and customer service.

Bachelor’s degree in any field.

Four (4) years of experience in any of the following areas:

Interpreting and/or enforcing city, county, state, or federal codes.
Business/Public administration
Policy implementation
Regulatory compliance
Legal or paralegal work
Urban planning

Two (2) years of supervisory/project management experience involving at least two (2) of the following areas (supervisory/project management experience may be included in the required experience above)

High school diploma or GED plus eight (8) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
Associate degree in any field plus six (6) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experienced requirements.
Master's degree or higher in any field plus two (2) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/project management experience will meet the education and experience requirements.

Valid and current driver's license with good driving record.
Must have or be able to obtain certification as a Registered Code Enforcement Officer within six (6) months of appointment.
