The Facilities Manager oversees, manages, and directs operational activities, maintenance work, contracted projects, installations, and general care of all City cultural and related facilities. Establishes plans and performs moderately complex management.

Thorough knowledge of safety rules and precautions required of the assigned specialization.

Thorough knowledge of construction trades and all facets of facility maintenance.

Knowledge of human relations and supervision necessary to function as a first or second level supervisor.

Ability to plan, assign, train, direct, and evaluate clerical/administrative, trade/technical, or professional employees.

Knowledge of project management principles and practices.

Ability to read various complex schematic diagrams and blueprints.

Ability to develop and implement budget for facilities and associated maintenance work.

Ability to handle challenging, emergent, and complex situations.

Ability to understand technical terminology of the specialization assigned.

Communicating effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of people.

Ability to maintain record keeping or work log system.

Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

MINUMUM QUALIFICAITONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or an Architectural field.

• Four (4) years of experience in building/facility operations, building trades, or building maintenance with responsibility for contract and budget administration and procuring building equipment/materials.

• Two (2) years of management/supervisory responsibilities.

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
