The Senior Sanitation Truck Driver operates an 18 wheeler tractor-trailer truck to transport refuse, recycling, equipment, or other materials to locations within city limits. Operates various pieces of heavy equipment on the city's landfill to ensure that the streets and alleyways of Dallas are clean and free of trash and provides leadership, coaching, and training to co-workers and teammates.

1 Performs and tracks daily pre and post trip equipment inspection to ensure optimum operation and safe performance of vehicle.

1 Knowledge of hazards, safety rules, and regulations applicable to the operation of large tractor-trailer vehicles and other heavy equipment.

2 Knowledge of preventive vehicle and equipment maintenance.

3 Ability to operate trailer-truck combination and other automotive equipment in a skillful and safe manner.

4 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

5 Ability to utilize and comprehend maps depicting city streets and blocks.

6 Communicating effectively and in writing.

7 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
