THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a very well-funded AI-infrastructure company (~210 people, founded 2021, $327M raised) — the fastest way to build, tune, and scale AI on open models, delivering large speed, latency, and concurrency advantages over closed models. AI Field Engineers are the technical tip of the spear: you embed with the most ambitious AI-native customers to turn complex AI problems into production systems, fast (~60% hands-on coding/deployment, ~40% client engagement + product feedback).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Embed with AI-native customers and own POCs and MVPs. Deploy and optimize open-model inference (quantization, GPU tuning). Contribute directly to the product codebase. Bridge engineering, product, and customer delivery. Turn field insights into product feedback.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 1–2 weeks: client-facing from day one. First year: ship production systems with flagship AI-native customers and influence the roadmap.

MUST-HAVES

5–10 years in customer-facing ML/AI engineering (FDE, Applied AI, or Solutions Engineering) as a senior IC; strong Python; experience with LLM inference/fine-tuning and GPU infrastructure; ability to code and engage clients simultaneously.

NICE-TO-HAVES

vLLM / SGLang / TensorRT-LLM, Kubernetes, and hyperscaler AI platforms (Bedrock, SageMaker, Vertex, Azure AI Foundry).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$176K–$228K base (USD), $220K–$285K OTE (80/20), competitive equity. H-1B/TN sponsored; O-1 case-by-case.

LOCATION & WORK MODEL

Remote (US), or in office in New York or San Mateo.
