Ready to bring groundbreaking research to life? Join Deakin's Marketing and Recruitment Division as a Partner, Faculty Research Marketing and play a key role in elevating the profile, impact and reputation of our world-class research.

In this strategic and highly collaborative role, you'll work in close partnership with the Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Health to develop and deliver innovative marketing and communication initiatives that showcase research excellence, strengthen Deakin's research reputation, and support the recruitment of Graduate Research candidates. Working closely with leading researchers, research institutes, faculty leaders and marketing specialists, you'll translate complex research into compelling stories that engage audiences and demonstrate real-world impact.

From uncovering and promoting breakthrough discoveries to leading content-driven campaigns across digital, media and owned channels, you'll help position Deakin as a leader in research and innovation. You'll build strong partnerships across the University, provide strategic marketing advice and identify opportunities to connect Deakin's research with relevant audiences and amplify its reach and impact.

Leading a small team of digital content specialists, you'll foster high-performance, collaboration and excellence while delivering high-quality outcomes that align with Deakin's broader brand and strategic priorities.

As a Partner, Faculty Research Marketing you will:

  • Develop and implement faculty-specific marketing strategies that align with university-wide goals, showcasing research excellence and supporting Graduate Research recruitment.
  • Develop tailored content and marketing solutions for government, industry and B2B audiences to support faculty research partnerships and commercialisation priorities.
  • Translate complex or technical subject matter into clear, compelling and audience-focused communications and marketing content.
  • Establish strong, collaborative relationships with academic and professional staff, research groups, and institutes to understand priorities and translate them into impactful marketing activity.
  • Plan and manage the production of high-quality content across digital, media, and print channels, ensuring consistency with Deakin’s brand and strategic messaging.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to a team of digital content producers and specialists, fostering creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement in output quality.
  • Create tools and frameworks that empower researchers to communicate effectively, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance visibility, engagement, and reputation of faculty research.                                                   
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience conceptualising, developing, delivering and evaluating strategic marketing and communication initiatives and plans within complex organisational environments.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic marketing advice to senior stakeholders, build trusted relationships and influence diverse stakeholder groups to achieve alignment and organisational objectives.
  • Experience translating complex or technical subject matter into clear, compelling and audience-focused communications.
  • Strong communication, relationship management and leadership capability, including experience managing external agencies and supporting staff deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
