Research Assistant

• Based at Barwon Health Geelong and the Deakin Waterfront campus + hybrid work arrangements
• Full-time and fixed term until July 1, 2031
• Research Assistant $79,336 - $86,599 + 17% Superannuation

• Provide high‑level research and administrative support to the Chair in Nursing, ensuring smooth project delivery and quality outcomes.
• Assist with core research activities including data collection, interviewing, transcription, literature reviews, and basic analysis.
• Coordinate research operations such as meetings, seminars, conferences, newsletters, and partnership reports.
• Support the full grant lifecycle by preparing applications, developing budgets, monitoring expenditure, and managing post‑award reporting.
• Maintain and manage research databases, ethics systems, and publication data collections to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

• A relevant degree and experience in research administration, or an equivalent combination of research training and hands‑on experience.
• Demonstrated capability in research tasks — literature reviews, transcription, editing, report preparation — within a tertiary or research environment.
• Strong knowledge of research funding processes, including ARC schemes, budget development, and post‑award management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyse information and produce clear, concise reports and documents.
• Well‑developed analytical and compliance skills, including interpreting policies, managing publication data collection, and upholding confidentiality and privacy principles.
