Financial Ops Specialist

The Global Collections Specialist plays a key role in Deltek's Finance operations, managing the collection of outstanding accounts receivable from a worldwide customer base. This role focuses on reducing delinquency, resolving billing issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships — all while supporting Deltek's commitment to operational excellence.
 

• →Conduct outbound collection calls in a professional manner, maintaining and strengthening customer relationships throughout the process
• →Proactively contact clients prior to payment due dates to identify and resolve potential payment delays before invoices become past due
• →Resolve client billing disputes and accounts receivable delinquency issues with a customer-first approach and a sense of urgency
• →Review and monitor assigned accounts and applicable collection reports to track status and prioritize outreach
• →Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, billing, and cash posting teams to address root causes of payment delays
• →Partner with Collections management to design, implement, and continuously improve collection strategies, processes, and policies
• →Send written correspondence (email and mail) to customers to encourage timely payment of delinquent accounts
• →Identify, document, and escalate collection issues contributing to account delinquency to management with recommended solutions
• →Support the preparation of reports and data summaries for executive management

• 3+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related finance role
• Demonstrated knowledge of international collection techniques, policies, and procedures
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes while preserving customer relationships
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present information clearly to individuals and groups
• Proven ability to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a high-volume account portfolio

• Experience working with ERP or financial management systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint or similar platforms)
• Familiarity with global billing practices and multi-currency invoicing
• Ability to coach peers and provide constructive feedback in a collaborative team environment
• Experience generating and presenting accounts receivable reports to leadership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data analysis tools

• Graduate degree preferred in Finance, Business, or Accounting.
• At least three years of global collections experience.
• Strong understanding of all accounts receivable processes, including billing and payment.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, written, and time management skills. 
• Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy. 
• Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Costpoint, Getpaid applications a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
