The Director is an integral member of the construction department leadership team and provides business input related to the architecture and engineering professions. The position supervises other design team members andis responsible forthe team's day-to-day operating and financial activities. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring quality design standards for all projects and is accountable formaintainingthe department design standards for each project type. The Director of Architectureis responsible forall phases of project design thatcomply withthe projects program guidelines and financial constraints per the pro-forma.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Director of Architecture will oversee an architectural department that plans and designs diverse projects throughout the Division.
Shall schedule and manage architectural programs and design team activities providing quality assurance to all phases of the Design Documents.
Is the senior technical leader in the department, will play a key role in mentoring and coaching others.
Will lead an office and share knowledge, experience and skill sets with others.
Manage budgets, client relationships and oversee all design teams by working with the Development Managers and Preconstruction Managers in a collaborative effort.
Assures the high quality, coordination and completeness of drawings issued for construction.
Establish and implement short- and long-range goals,objectives, policies, and operating procedures
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Other duties as assigned
Visit communities for new plan walks
Redline Plan Updates
Coordination of Master Submittals
Product Lot Fit Setup

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor of Architecture or a related degree
General knowledge ofcommonly-usedconcepts, practices, and procedures in an architectural office isrequired.
Strategic thinking to address issues and new concepts in design, production of documents, and development of detailing
Exceptional communication skills -- both written and verbal
Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and time management skills
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel isrequired.
Proficient in CAD, Bluebeam Revu, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Valid Driver's License is required
