The Assistant Project Manager supports the daily operations of custodial services, ensuring quality performance, customer satisfaction, and efficient service delivery. This position works closely with the Project Manager to oversee contract operations, supervise employees, maintain safety standards, and support a positive work environment. The Assistant Project Manager also helps advance Didlake's mission by promoting meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Assist the Project Manager in overseeing daily custodial operations and ensuring contract requirements are met.
- →Coordinate activities to achieve operational goals within established timelines and budgets.
- →Communicate with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and other stakeholders to address operational concerns.
- →Work with the Quality Systems Manager to establish and maintain service delivery standards.
- →Develop, implement, and monitor quality inspection procedures, checklists, and schedules.
- →Review inspection results to identify trends, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
- →Prepare and submit inspection reports, operational updates, and required documentation.
- →Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to service quality.
- →Monitor cleaning supplies, chemical usage, and inventory.
- →Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies.
- →Supervise employees, evaluate performance, and provide recommendations regarding personnel actions.
- →Identify employee training needs and support professional development.
- →Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive workplace environment.
- →Support workplace accommodations and promote the rights of employees with disabilities.
- →Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and customers to maintain efficient operations.
- →Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure assigned work is completed.
- →Assist with managing contract resources and maintaining cost-effective operations.
- →Serve as a point of contact for staff and customers in the Project Manager's absence.
- →Respond to emergency operations, including inclement weather, as required.
- →Complete all required Didlake training and additional duties assigned by the Project Manager.
You bring experience in custodial or building maintenance operations, supervisory leadership, and quality assurance. You understand contract requirements, workplace safety, and the importance of delivering reliable customer service. You are organized, dependable, and capable of managing employees, addressing operational challenges, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of custodial and/or building maintenance experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of contracts, budgets, safety, and health regulations strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, custodial tools, chemicals, and applicable safety and quality standards required.
- A valid REAL ID is required to enter this worksite.
- Possess the ability to pass a background check and maintain a clearance.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to oversee staff, evaluate performance, and address personnel concerns.
- Ability to train employees on custodial procedures, equipment, chemicals, and workplace safety.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze information, prepare reports, and recommend operational improvements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees with disabilities.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when operational needs require.
- Ability to respond to emergency operations, including snow removal and inclement weather.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training at nearby locations or Didlake headquarters.
- Maintain a positive and professional image when interacting with employees, customers, and Didlake clients.
