The Janitor plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and customers. This position directly supports daily operations by ensuring all assigned areas meet cleanliness, safety, and quality standards while upholding Didlake’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, break rooms, libraries, kitchenettes/pantries, locker rooms, showers, stairwells, elevators, escalators, and other assigned work areas.
- →Sweep and mop floors using appropriate tools and equipment.
- →Vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- →Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- →Polish metal fixtures, fittings, and trimmings.
- →Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, and sills.
- →Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and recyclables to designated disposal areas.
- →Replenish restroom and janitorial supplies as needed.
- →Produce consistent, high-quality work in all assigned areas.
- →Follow all Didlake policies related to conduct, safety, and professionalism.
- →Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and according to guidelines.
- →Complete and maintain all required Didlake training.
You bring previous custodial or janitorial experience, knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to follow safety procedures. Dependability, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively with people with disabilities are essential.
- High School Diploma or GED; OR
- At least six (6) months of previous custodial or janitorial work experience.
- Commitment to quality work and attention to detail.
- Professional conduct and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to follow established procedures, safety standards, and training requirements.
- Ability to follow simple but detailed instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with employees with disabilities.
- Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to obtain required background credentials.
