Janitor

The Janitor independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas.  Duties involve a combination of the following:  sweeping, mopping floors; removing trash and other materials for recycling; dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; replenishing restroom supplies.

• →Cleans offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• →Sweeps floors using brooms, and mops.
• →Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using the vacuum cleaner.
• →Dust furniture and equipment.
• →Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
• →Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
• →Washes door panels and sills.
• →Empties wastebaskets.
• →Transports trash to disposal area and recycling to designated areas.
• →Replenishes restroom supplies.
• →Responsible for producing quality work.
• →Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy.
• →Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
• →Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

What You Bring  

You bring previous custodial or janitorial experience, knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to follow safety procedures. Dependability, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively with people with disabilities are essential.

• High School diploma/GED or 6 months of previous custodial work experience.

• Must have reliable, daily transportation to the Perry Point Northeast Warehouse. 
• Possess the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance background check.
• Access to this worksite requires a valid REAL ID as of May 2025.
• Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
• Ability to communicate with co-workers.
• Must possess a positive team member attitude.
• Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
• Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
