Lead Worker

The Lead Worker – Utility provides direction and supervision to trash, restroom, and fire stairwell crews while helping maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned areas. Monitors work quality, equipment use, and adherence to safety policies and contract requirements.

• →Direct and monitor trash, restroom, and fire stairwell crews to ensure assigned areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• →Respond to liquid spills, remove trash and waste materials, and transport materials to designated disposal areas.
• →Clean and maintain restrooms, recycle rooms, service elevators, cleaning closets, storage areas, and other assigned work areas.
• →Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and other surfaces, including removing carpet spots using approved equipment and products.
• →Receive, count, store, and replenish custodial supplies needed for daily operations.
• →Monitor proper use of equipment and adherence to safety policies, procedures, and contract requirements, and report concerns or safety issues to supervisors.
• →Operate power equipment and assist with snow removal and other inclement weather needs as required.
• →Complete required paperwork and training while fostering positive teamwork, quality work, and appropriate workplace conduct.

You bring previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience, knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to follow safety procedures. Dependability, teamwork, leadership, and the ability to work effectively with people with disabilities are essential.

• High School diploma or GED, or
• Minimum of (1) year of previous custodial or janitorial experience.

• A valid REAL ID is required to enter this worksite.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this worksite.
• Possess the ability to pass a background check and maintain a clearance.
• Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remind and train staff on standard operating procedures and safe operation of equipment.
• Ability to apply good judgment in fulfilling responsibilities.
• Some knowledge of equipment and chemicals used, i.e., scrubbers, Billy Goat blowers, vacuums, snowblowers, and EZ-Go.
• Ability to interact effectively and positively with employees with disabilities.
• Knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate custodial and power equipment.
• Must possess and demonstrate high initiative, adaptability, reliability, flexibility, and a positive team member attitude.
• Ability to respond to work during inclement weather and other essential personnel situations.
