District of Columbia International School (DCI) is a public charter school serving over 1600 racially and economically diverse students in grades 6-12 from across the District of Columbia. Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or equivalent required. (Associates, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent is highly preferred).
- Preference for candidates that are bilingual French, or Chinese and English.
- Ability to lift and carry orders and deliveries short distances.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in a school environment.
- Comfortable in a Mac environment.
- Ability to draft and create documents and spreadsheets.
- Ability to use multiple technology platforms to guide instruction and communicate with students and families and proficiency with communicating using G-Suite tools, including Gmail, is preferred.
- Clear a background check.
- Teach courses and/or substitute teach as the sole instructor as necessary.
- Interact with students, teachers and other community members in a professional and inviting manner.
- Support teachers as an additional instructor in the classroom.
- Provide discipline and informal counseling in response to student issues, including tracking disciplinary responses.
- Provide support to office, front desk, and facilities staff as necessary.
- Assist students and staff as necessary.
- Professional communication with parents, students and staff French, or Chinese and English.
- Provide support to Activities, Clubs and Extracurricular team and/or Athletic Director when needed.
- Embrace French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures by leading and participating in cultural activities for faculty and students.
- Other duties as assigned.
