Our team delivers approximately 200 projects annually, ranging from single-room upgrades to fully integrated smart homes, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and professionalism.
Role Summary
The Level 3 Residential Technician is the highest-level technical installer within Logic Integration's residential field team. This position is responsible for independently installing, commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting sophisticated home technology systems while serving as a technical mentor for junior technicians.
The ideal candidate possesses advanced knowledge of residential AV, control systems, home networking, audio distribution, lighting control, motorized shading, surveillance, and smart home automation platforms. This individual is capable of leading installations in the field, solving complex technical challenges, and ensuring every project meets Logic Integration's standards for performance, aesthetics, and client satisfaction.
This role requires 3-5+ years of residential AV integration experience and a demonstrated ability to work independently on high-end residential projects.
Core Responsibilities
Advanced Residential System Installation
Install, terminate, test, and certify low-voltage cabling including Cat6/Cat6A, fiber, coaxial, speaker wire, control cable, and security cabling Build, wire, label, and dress equipment racks according to Logic Integration standards Install and configure: Televisions and projector systems Distributed audio and video systems Home theaters and media rooms Whole-home audio systems Surveillance and CCTV systems Access control and intercom systems Motorized shades and lighting control systems Structured wiring and networking infrastructure Smart home automation systems Install wall-mounted devices, speakers, cameras, touch panels, keypads, and other residential technology products with a high level of craftsmanship Ensure all installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and project documentation
System Configuration & Commissioning
Configure and commission complete residential AV and automation systems Program and troubleshoot device communication over IP, RS-232, IR, relay, and contact closure protocols Configure home networks including routers, switches, wireless access points, VLANs, and connected devices Commission lighting, shade, audio, video, security, and automation subsystems Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance prior to client handoff Resolve system performance issues through structured troubleshooting methods
Residential Control & Automation Platforms
Configure and support industry-leading residential control systems including: Control4 Savant Crestron Home Josh.ai Lutron Sonos Access Networks Araknis Ubiquiti Perform basic programming modifications and system updates as required Manage firmware updates and device integration within larger smart home ecosystems
Networking & Connected Home Technologies
Strong understanding of residential networking fundamentals including: IP addressing DHCP and DNS Switching and routing VLANs Wi-Fi design and optimization Remote monitoring and management Configure network-connected AV and automation devices Coordinate with homeowners, builders, electricians, and third-party technology providers when required Diagnose network-related issues affecting system performance
Troubleshooting & Service Excellence
Independently diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues Utilize testing equipment and manufacturer software to identify faults Troubleshoot across hardware, software, networking, and automation layers Complete service and punch list items efficiently and accurately Deliver exceptional client experiences during installation, commissioning, and service visits Ensure systems operate reliably and meet client expectations before completion
Mentorship & Team Support
Serve as a technical resource for Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians Provide training on installation best practices, troubleshooting techniques, and job-site professionalism Review work quality and provide feedback to team members Promote safe work practices and adherence to company standards Assist Project Managers with project execution, documentation, and field coordination
Industry Standards & Quality Expectations
The Level 3 Residential Technician is expected to maintain installation quality and workmanship that aligns with industry best practices, including:
AVIXA installation and commissioning standards ANSI/TIA structured cabling standards Residential low-voltage and electrical best practices OSHA safety requirements Manufacturer installation guidelines Logic Integration installation, labeling, and documentation standards Control4 Savant programming and troubleshooting Creston home certification is required AVIXA CTS certification is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications
3-5+ years of residential AV integration experience Demonstrated proficiency in all Level 1 and Level 2 technician responsibilities Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities Experience installing and commissioning high-end residential technology systems Ability to read and interpret project drawings, wiring diagrams, and scope documents Experience with residential networking and Wi-Fi systems Strong understanding of audio, video, control, and automation technologies Professional communication and client-facing skills High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to pass background check and drug screening Authorized to work full-time in the United States
Qualifications
AVIXA CTS certification Control4 certification (must have) Savant certification Crestron Home certification (must have) Lutron certification Networking certifications (CompTIA Network+, Ubiquiti, Cisco, etc.) Experience with Josh.ai, Sonos, Access Networks, Araknis, and Ubiquiti platforms Home theater commissioning and calibration experience

Level 3 Technicians are expected to maintain a professional tool kit including:
Cable testers and certification tools Crimpers, punch-down tools, and termination equipment Drill, bits, and mounting hardware Label maker Multimeter and basic electrical testing tools Laptop with manufacturer configuration software Network testing tools Laser level Standard hand tools per Logic Integration tool list
