What we're looking for

doola is seeking a customer-oriented and dedicated professional to assist our CPA for the upcoming tax season this year and moving forward! One of the most important parts of operating a successful business in the US is taxes, and at the same time, it can be very confusing both for American and foreign entrepreneurs. As our customer base grows quickly, it’s time for us to provide in-house tax services which will keep our customers’ businesses complaint and in a good state.

This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help our customers to manage their US business.

This is a permanent position providing assistance to our clients: both assisting them in preparing their business returns and/or fully preparing customer tax returns under the supervision of a CPA.

You will be working with our CPA to provide expert guidance and service to our clients from around the world

You will collaborate with other team members to timely and accurately file tax returns as needed throughout the busy season

You will assist in communicating with clients to solve their various questions and inquiries around tax season.

You will assist in managing client inquiries throughout the year, getting on calls (through webcam or phone) as needed to answer their worries.

You will play an important role in the preparation process: performing tax calculations, inputting data, and researching any pertinent information needed to solve filing questions.

You will apply appropriate practices, procedures, and processes to appropriately input client data into federal and state tax returns for CPA review.

Active PTIN required or ability to obtain prior to tax season

You are comfortable communicating directly with co-workers, managers, or clients in a telework environment over a webcam.

You have experience preparing and reviewing Federal and State income tax returns for businesses, preparing quarterly estimates, handling tax notices and disputes

You are familiar with the following tax filings found in this guide: specifically, form 1120/5472 for non-US residents and form 1065 for partnerships.

You are comfortable with a startup environment and can easily navigate ambiguity or sudden changes in your day-to-day tasks.

You can use critical thinking, reasoning, and emotional intelligence to recognize details of situations and identify solutions, conclusions, or best approaches.

You possess excellent organizational and analytical skills

Effective English communication skills, both written and oral, are required

Preferred: Active CPA or EA (or planning to obtain)

Preferred: You have experience researching United States tax information

Preferred: Familiarity with Intuit tax products

Preferred: Familiarity with Wave, Quickbooks, or other SMB accounting software

This is a permanent role with the company.
