The ANZ Strategy and Planning team supports the VP ANZ in setting DoorDash ANZ’s strategic agenda. We are responsible for high-level strategic analysis, delivering special projects, managing regular business review processes and supporting business-wide planning.

About the Role

~2 min read

We’re looking for a sharp and creative Senior Associate to join the Strategy & Planning team supporting the VP of DoorDash ANZ.

In this role, you will help drive DoorDash ANZ’s strategic agenda. You will conduct deep dives into strategic issues, pick up special projects e.g. growth opportunities / market entry / cross-functional initiatives, support business-wide planning processes and prepare regular business reviews for global and local leadership.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Marketplace, Merchant, Dasher, New Verticals, Sales and Finance. You’ll build working relationships with a mix of business leaders and operators, meaning you’ll work at both the highest and lowest levels of detail.

The projects you work on will be complex and require a high degree of rigor. You’ll work from raw data and whiteboard sessions to build analyses, generate and test ideas and ultimately produce leadership-ready recommendations or pilot them yourself. You’ll be supported by your team along the way and make use of the latest analytical and AI tooling.

This role reports to the Associate Manager, Strategy & Planning.

  • Apply yourself to our biggest challenges: You will have a front row seat as strategic items arise and you will work with the team to design our response.
  • Help set our strategic rhythm: Preparing quarterly strategy offsites, monthly business reviews and supporting planning processes, you will have your finger on the pulse of the business and help influence its direction.
  • Work cross-functionally: You will collaborate with leaders and operators across all of our teams, building strong working relationships and coordinating complex projects.
  • Broaden your skillset: You will work on a variety of topics across our organisation and with each you’ll pick up new tools, technologies and concepts.
  • Join a high performing team: Work with bright, ambitious and caring colleagues in ANZ and around the world.
  • You have 3+ years of experience. You’ve succeeded in high performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, consulting, strategy, or similarly rigorous roles) and you’re comfortable in dynamic environments.
  • You’re curious, creative and you see the big picture. You bring a fresh and independent perspective, approaching problems from new angles and proactively identifying opportunities in unexpected places. You’re interested in how levers we pull in one place create ripple effects across the broader business and you understand our business in the wider market context.
  • You're analytically strong. You enjoy using data to develop your thinking, model and stress-test options, and deliver clear, well-supported recommendations. You are strong with spreadsheets and have a working knowledge of SQL.
  • You’re adaptable. You’re comfortable tackling novel issues from first principles without established playbooks to guide you. And you can pivot as priorities change.
  • You have strong project management skills. You can manage multiple competing priorities and concurrent workstreams, staying focused on what matters most. You know when to apply an 80/20 lens versus when to go deep.
  • You make the most of AI: You use AI tools to boost your output and streamline repeatable work so you can dedicate more time to higher-order thinking and stakeholder engagement.
  • You're a team player. You enjoy collaborating with others to solve business problems, whiteboard solutions, and deliver against ambitious goals.
