Are you a curious, insatiable media consumer with a deep knowledge of the latest TV dramas, celebrity news, and true-crime documentaries? Do you excel at pop-culture trivia? Could you just as easily assemble a roundup of stars with regrettable tattoos as you could a list of the best Robert Pattinson roles?
Entertainment Weekly is looking for an SEO Writer to create search-driven movie, TV, and celebrity content for EW. Assignments could include breaking down the Severance finale, checking in on the subjects of a hit documentary, or rounding up a list of stars you never knew were related.
This person must be a fast, clean writer, a resourceful researcher, and a digitally savvy entertainment expert with a strong understanding of SEO best practices. The ideal candidate is a voicey writer who can have fun with their copy while maintaining authority on the subject.
EW is a fast-paced newsroom, so speed is essential along with the ability to pitch and write multiple articles per day of varying length. We’re looking for a talented writer who regularly consumes new and popular streaming content and has a wide-ranging interest in celebrity and pop culture.
Assignment Details:
40 hours a week
Start date: 10/13/2026
End date: 3 months with potential to extend
Hourly Rate: $28
Location: Remote - US

Skills/Experience:
Education: BA or BS
Experience: 2-3 years experience writing for a celebrity news publication or in a related entertainment space
Strong writing and editing skills, impeccable journalistic standards, and attention to detail.
Ability to respond quickly to breaking news and understand how to find an SEO or evergreen angle from a news event.
Demonstrated understanding of SEO and analytics.
Demonstrated knowledge of pop culture, specifically related to TV and film.
Loves a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
