- Keep our employee records organized and accurate across our systems (Breezy ATS, Acumatica ERP) and play a key role in our upcoming 2027 HRIS implementation.
- Support employee immigration processes, including LMIA applications and Permanent Residency (PR) support.
- Lead Health & Safety reporting, Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives, accessibility, and workplace safety programs to reduce risk across all locations.
- Oversee WSIB/claims case management, return-to-work programs, and medical leaves of absence with care and efficiency.
- Act as a trusted, neutral point of contact for employees; triage concerns, document issues, guide leaders, and ensure consistent, fair follow-through.
- Administer engagement surveys, pulse checks, and exit interviews. Notice patterns, translate data into clear thematic insights, and bring actionable themes to leadership.
- Handle logistics behind the scenes such as interview scheduling, offer letter generation, background checks, system access setup, and new hire paperwork.
- Maintain performance tools, competency models, and appraisal workflows; support managers through standard performance development plans and benchmark tracking with empathy and clarity.
- 5+ years in progressive HR/People roles: You have proven experience managing core HR operations, employee relations, and administrative systems within a growing organization.
- Health & Safety Leadership: You have active experience participating in or co-chairing a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), leading workplace inspections, and managing incident reporting/WSIB claims.
- Deep Legislative Expertise: You are well-versed in Ontario employment standards and legislation, specifically the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and Human Rights Code.
- Manufacturing or Trades Experience (Strong Asset): Experience working within a manufacturing, production, shop, or skilled trades environment is a major bonus. You understand the unique safety risks, operational rhythms, and culture of a hands-on, build-focused workplace.
- CHRP / CHRL designation: Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader designation (or working toward it) is considered a strong asset.
- You love clarity and structure: You see chaotic data or outdated policies and naturally want to streamline them into clean, organized, human-centered systems.
- You’re a trusted secret-keeper: You handle sensitive employee situations, confidential data, and performance matters with incredible discretion, empathy, and fairness.
- You’re proactive about safety and risk: You don't wait for an incident to fix a process; you look around corners to make sure our workplace is safe and legally sound.
- You translate "HR speak" into plain English: You can take a complex legislative update or benefit policy and explain it to a busy manager in two clear bullet points.
- You balance compliance with care: You understand that policies are there to support people, not hinder them, and you know how to hold a line on standards while maintaining high trust.
