Senior UX/HCD Designer

Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior UX/HCD Designer to work in our Arlington, VA (Hybrid) office.

ECS is seeking a Senior UX/HCD Designer to support the design, testing, and prototyping of CIRCIA technology products within a cross-functional environment that integrates Product, Design, Engineering, and Compliance stakeholders. The CIRCIA program requires human-centered design expertise to ensure that public-facing and enterprise digital services meet federal accessibility and usability standards while remaining aligned with regulatory requirements. This role directly supports CISA's mission to reduce friction in cyber incident reporting and strengthen the nation's cybersecurity posture.

ECS is seeking an experienced Senior UX/HCD Designer to lead human-centered design work across a cross-functional team of product, engineering, and compliance stakeholders. In this role, you will ensure that digital services are usable, accessible, and grounded in a clear understanding of the underlying data and system architecture.

You will apply human-centered design methodologies to shape and refine public-facing and enterprise digital experiences supporting the CIRCIA program. Working closely with product owners, engineers, and compliance leads, you will ensure design decisions are informed by user research and aligned with regulatory and accessibility requirements throughout the design lifecycle.

This role requires strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. You will contribute to iterative design cycles and deliver work that reduces friction for users navigating complex regulatory reporting workflows.

• →Lead design efforts for one or more priority digital products or forms, partnering with business owners, engineering, and compliance/legal stakeholders to define ambiguous problems and align priorities.
• →Prepare draft specifications, annotations, interaction notes, screen states, and expected behaviors for review by senior design leadership.
• →Provide structured handoffs to engineering and operations, including acceptance criteria grounded in user research.
• →Identify and escalate usability, accessibility, and consistency issues encountered during design and review.
• →Iterate on designs based on stakeholder and user feedback throughout the product lifecycle.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $155,000

• →Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• →7+ years of product design experience, including translating complex or technical requirements into clear user experiences.
• →Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Mural, or equivalent tool) and experience preparing detailed design specifications for engineering handoff.
