Job Description Position: Executive – Freight Forwarding Operations Department: Freight Forwarding – Sea Operations Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Experience: 2–5 years Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Executive to manage and coordinate sea freight export/import operations from Chennai. The candidate should have good knowledge of shipping documentation, coordination with shipping lines, customers, CHA, transporters, and other stakeholders. Should have knowledge in handling carrier portals like knowing quote/schedules & placing booking and interact with shipper/CHA agents to get necessary details to process Bill of landing. Key Responsibilities Handle end-to-end sea freight forwarding operations for import/export shipments. Coordinate with shipping lines, customers, CHA, transporters, and overseas agents. Handle booking, shipment tracking, vessel schedules, and documentation. Prepare and verify shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, Shipping Bill, invoices, packing lists, and arrival notices. Coordinate for container movement, stuffing, clearance, and timely shipment delivery. Follow up on vessel schedules, cut-off dates, ETD/ETA, and shipment status. Ensure timely submission of documentation and accurate data entry. Resolve operational issues and coordinate with relevant teams for smooth shipment movement. Maintain proper shipment records and update customers regularly. Coordinate with internal sales, documentation, accounts, and customer service teams. Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable shipping regulations. Should have knowledge in handling carrier portals like knowing quote/schedules & placing booking and interact with shipper/CHA agents to get necessary details to process Bill of landing. Requirements Candidate Requirements Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Trade will be an advantage. 2–5 years of experience in sea freight forwarding operations. Good understanding of import/export procedures and shipping documentation. Knowledge of shipping lines, container operations, port procedures, and freight forwarding processes. Good communication, coordination, follow-up, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and email communication. Candidates with experience in Chennai port/sea freight operations will be preferred.
